Born in Athens, Greece, Andreas completed his Diploma studies in Applied Mathematics with focus in Applied Mechanics and Statistics at the National Technical University of Athens having given the opportunity to complete his Diploma Thesis on Contact Mechanics at the Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. He then completed master studies in Computational Mechanics and doctoral studies in Computational Engineering at the Technical University of Munich with focus on the integration of Design and Analysis for surface coupled problems. During his postdoctoral research Andreas was mainly occupied with uncertainty quantification and stochastic optimization for high-rise buildings subject to wind. In his free time, Andreas enjoys cycling, swimming and sailing.
