MATLAB® and Simulink® are primarily used in digital signal processing and control system development projects. Often, customers deliver a MATLAB algorithm (double precision floating point) to be implemented in an FPGA. Enclustra does the conversion to fixed-point numbers and the bit-true implementation in HDL code, using either HDL Coder™ or performing by hand. In the latter case, Enclustra usually employs a bit-true fixed-point arithmetic library, available for MATLAB and VHDL. MATLAB is used throughout the whole project; from the first algorithm implementation, to the golden model for regression testing in their continuous integration environment.
Most of their end users are system integrators in the industrial machinery, communications, medical testing, and instrumentation industries. Enclustra has, among others, successfully completed projects in the wireless communication, networking, drive control, smart camera, industrial communication, and digital signal processing application areas.
