Joyeeta Mitra Mukherjee is a consultant engineer who helps customers develop MATLAB-based algorithms for computer vision and image processing applications. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Houston, Texas in electrical and computer engineering with a focus on signal processing and neural networks. Before joining MathWorks, Joyeeta was an assistant professor of radiology at University of Massachusetts Medical School where she developed algorithms for image reconstruction, image registration, and motion correction in nuclear imaging modalities (PET and SPECT). She also consulted for a start-up that developed medical devices for image-guided interventional electrophysiology (EP); she worked on 3D visualization, cardiac chamber mapping, automated segmentation, and object tracking. Joyeeta is a member of SPIE and a senior member of IEEE.
