ask the user for three numbers in the form of a vector,[a b c].then tell the user the number of real-valued roots there are for the equation y=a*x^2+b*x+c having the user's values for a,b,c.

you can use input instead of fscanf, and enter scalar, vector or matrix :
a=input(' Player 1: ');
