how to remove linear structures in the image ?

in my binary image i want remove the linear structures (which are in various angles) and i want to preserve the round like or dots in the image what can i do , i tried tophat transformation with linear structuring element to get only the linear structuring element and to eliminate it by subtracting ,but it gives the round structures also , please help me.
