Medical imaging processing - MRI

I am thinking of doing a study of first pass perfusion image slices of myocardium and create a segmentation algorithm using the results. Guide me on where should i start? I already have the dataset of a patient. Any tutorials apart from mathworks, as i have already watched that. Any PDF's?
