How to embed in a post a nitid image

I was trying to embed a .gif in my previous question but it gets blurred due to resizing.

What is the correct size to keep the embedded image crisp as it is when I visualize outside of the forum?

Ok, I figured it out, I usually zoom + the forum a little bit. My fault. Thank you Sean for the feedback. If you move your comment to an answer I will accept it, you definitely helped me solve the mistery (I feel like ana amateur :)

The image looks the same (good quality) to me in both places.

Also, on Mac w/ firefox, when I do the zoom in by holding one finger static on the touch pad and moving the other, the quality is maintained.
