Calculating Electric Potential and Electric Field

13 views (last 30 days)
Hello,
I am trying to find the electric potential across a non-uniform charge disk. The charge distribution is defined as p=r^2cos^2(phi) with the radius of the disk being 3meters. If the observer is at (0,0,z) how would I calculate the electric field at the point (3,1,-2)? I can do this using math, however I am new to matlab so help with the code would be appreciated. Thanks!

first what do you mean by observer?? what's his job or what advantage would he give to the solution of the prob. second you need so specify the position of the disk and in what plane it is like the disk is in the (xy) plane at z = 5; then we might be able to help you.

Here you have the full MATLAB code explained for a dipole, can be the begining of the solution (in spanish but the first comment is the code): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9srU6aQfL0
