- This error can be caused by an anti-virus or security program interfering with the MATLAB installer. Disable any anti-virus you have running, and then rerun the installer.
- There may be an issue with the target installation directory. Rerun the installer and specify a new directory that did not previously exist on the system.
- If you are installing on R2018a or older, the files that you downloaded may be corrupt or incomplete. Delete the installation files on your system. Then, download your products again and rerun the installer.

Hi Srushit,
This issue can occur when you install MATLAB App with a poor network connection. When the installer is attempting to download files, a failure to download a file successfully will show as a retry attempt.
The installer will attempt to redownload each failed file up to 8 times and on the 8th attempt failure, the installer will fail fully and throw the error message "There was an error downloading .....".
This will typically occur as a result of a poor network connection.
As a workaround, switch to a more reliable internet connection or attempt to install through the offline workflow.
