Can anyone post the working matlab code for arithmetic decoding? A general code which accepts the symbols and their probabilities from the user.

You can use the function arithenco to encode:

http://www.mathworks.co.uk/help/comm/ref/arithenco.html

and arithdeco to decode:

http://www.mathworks.co.uk/help/comm/ref/arithdeco.html

Yes, these are the inputs to the function. Please see the example at the link I provided.
