How to cut an object from this image?

Hello, I have to cut the central rectangle in this image, is a cell with lipids. I don´t know how I have to do that. Can anyone help me?

Could you please tell for what purpose you want to cut the rectangle?
You can use imcrop() to crop the region from the whole image.
As for example:
I = imread('your_image');
subplot(1,2,1);
imshow(I,[]);
I2 = imcrop(I);
subplot(1,2,2),
subimage(I2);

Do you mean the rectangle or the whole rectangle region? Are you looking for a binary image after you detect the rectangle region? However; for your information you will not be able to detect the edges from the image using imcrop() but rather it will let you to crop the region that you want to crop only.
