How to setup SD Card Logging for C2000 target

I am working with a TI F280049C Launchpad and trying to set it up for external SD Card logging. I'm trying this example (https://www.mathworks.com/help/supportpkg/texasinstrumentsc2000/ug/mat-file-logging-sdcard-tic2000.html) and it is not working. I've tried multiple pinout options and both SPI_A and SPI_B. The Simulink model deploys no problem, but when I check to see if there is files on the SD card, it's blank.
I read that it should be formated to FAT32 to support C2000 processors. The only options I see are exFAT or NTFS. Is exFAT acceptable?
This is the micro SD Card Adapter I am using: https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-Reader-interface-driver-Arduino/dp/B01MSNX0TW/ref=asc_df_B01MSNX0TW/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=167141218295&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=8501206855128543225&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9005511&hvtargid=pla-305154590559&psc=1
