why addpath is not working and I get the error

addpath ('/Users/maherheal/Desktop/github_repo/@tree')

You cannot add class directories (whose names start with @) to the MATLAB path. The classes in those directories will be accessible to MATLAB if the parent directory of that class directory is on the path.
