Missing objects in saved figure?

Hi,
I have some plots on my gui and want to save the current figure as jpeg. I achieved this goal but something is missing. The rectangle on the plot is not visible in the saved image file. Other objects including surfaces and contour faces are visible but a rectangle plotted with the "rectangle" command is not.
What can be the problem, is it the file format?
