It seems that you are trying to open the live script in tabs only. To address this, I have a couple of suggestions for you:
  1. Click on the small downward-pointing arrowhead in a circle located in the upper right corner of the Editor's toolstrip. This arrowhead is associated with the tooltip "Show Editor Actions". Upon clicking it, a menu will appear. From that menu, select "Dock Editor" and see if it allows you to open the live script in tabs.
  2. Alternatively, you can try using the keyboard shortcut CTRL+D, as it might have the same effect and enable you to open the live script in tabs.
Additionally, if you want to reset your layout to the default settings, you can follow these steps:
  • Go to the Home tab in MATLAB.
  • Select the "Layout" option from the menu.
  • Click on "Default" to reset your layout.
I hope these suggestions help you resolve the issue you are facing.
