The goal is to filter the interference from input signal and represent it in z-domain.
I managed to import the excel file and performed fft. data from excel file is amplitude and time.
i have problem with doing convolution whereby i need the impulse response. i use impz( ) and designfilt( ) but i have problem with values needed for designfilt( ). is there any way to calculate the stopband frequency, passband ripple, etc that is required for deisgnfilt( ).
i would appreciate it if you could provide another alternative (if there's any). thankyou.

Hi Mohammad,
Based on the provided information I can understand that you want to implement FIR and IIR filter in MATLAB and provide the input from the excel file.
Please follow these steps in achieving your objective :
- You can use "readtable" or Import Tool to import the data from the excel file to the MATLAB workspace.
- Since the variables required are present in the workspace you can easily pass it to the filter you require it to be.
Kindly take reference from the following documentation links in undertsanding the above approach:
- https://www.mathworks.com/help/signal/ug/iir-filter-design.html
- https://www.mathworks.com/discovery/matlab-excel.html
- https://www.mathworks.com/help/matlab/ref/readtable.html
I hope it helps you in achieving the objective.
