Hi, I was wondering if there's any way MATLAB can run on the Surface Pro 3? I bought an installation license previously and had trouble with setting it up on the Surface and needed it for school, so I just threw it on my old Asus laptop, but I would really like to have it on my Surface for the sake of convenience and efficiency. Any help is appreciated!

P.S. I'm not exactly computer literate either, so no assumption in answering this is safe haha. I do have an external 2TB WD hard drive that I put large files on to keep the Surface free, would it at all be possible to put programs on there too and run the program from the hard drive?

MATLAB 8.6 (R2015b) is expected to work on a system that would meet all the necessary system requirements as mentioned in the following link :
Also, you can learn more about the platform road map for the MATLAB and Simulink Product families by referring the following link :
Please check whether the tablet meets the system requirements as mentioned in the above links. However, MATLAB support on Microsoft Surface Pro tablet is not tested or verified, and some capabilities of Windows 8, such as touch-based gestures might not work.
Also currently, MATLAB and Simulink are not supported for Windows 8 "RT" ARM-based Surface tablets.
