One same file, opened by windows Matlab and Mac Matlab gives different content

I have a video file with the extension of ".ravi". When I use windows matlab to open it, it provided me a 4D data with pixel information of every frame. But when I use mac matlab to open it, it provided me serious of string data. The string data is unreadable. Wondering why this happened and is there anyways I can fix this?

The windows matlab is 2022a, the mac matlab is 2022a_beta version for native M1 chip testing.

What commands are you using to open and read the file.

I tried two different methods on both OS. One was using importdata command, another one is directly drag the file to the workspace. The results were different in both results.

it is a video file. I would not expect either of those two ways to get anything useful.

It could potentially be the case that you happen to have a CODEC for the files on your Windows system, but it is unlikely that you would have a CODEC on the MacOS system.
