How do I obtain a license file for my installation?

I have installed MatLab 2014b and I get an Error -9 message when I attempt to start up the program. I have to run the activate executable every time in order to get the program to start. How do I download a copy of my license file? There is no license file under Program Files/Matlab/R2014b/License folder.

It is possible that your user account only has limited permissions. You can try launcing it as an administrator.

If the license folders are empty, then the MATLAB activation client wrote license file to another account. To resolve the issue, activate MATLAB manually through the License Center using the instructions in the following article.
