Hi,
My situation is this: at the end of last month (02-27-2015 to be precise) I bought a student license of MATLAB 2014b and then now I realize that MATLAB 2015a is being released just a few weeks later.
Now what I'd like to know is if there is a way to update to MATLAB 2015a or if I just have to buy this new version?
I know that at the end the fault is mine, because I did not research enough to make a good decision, but I also hope that you could help me with this.
Thank you,
Paul Vicioso

Hi Paul,
We currently do not provide updates for student software licenses. If you need access to R2015a, I would recommend to return your existing software and purchase the R2015a release. Since you purchased your software less than 30 days ago, there is no fee associated with the return process. Please contact the MathWorks customer service team at service@mathworks.com and they will help you out.
Thanks,
Shantanu

Not all Matlab versions are released as student versions. Therefore I guess that there is no student version of 2015a, when 2014b has been one.
Nevertheless, the Mathworks Sales Team is the best address for this question. You find their mail address on the homepage.

In general, I would expect, the professor of a course suggests a common release for all students to minimize effects on release dependencies. So basically, it may be better to stay on your version?
