How about:
subarray = f(y1:yb, x1:xb);
Qs = sum(subarray(:)) - 0.5 * b^2;

A * sin(k * c) * x * e - j * beta * z
A * sin(k * c) * d * e - h * (x-d) * e - j * beta * z
However, I suspect the e- might be an exponential . If so then the forms might be
A * sin(k * c) * x * exp(-j * beta * z)
A * sin(k * c) * d * exp(-h * (x-d)) * exp( -j * beta * z)
Of course there are other possible meanings, such as
A * sin(kc * x) * exp(-j * beta * z)
It would be easier if there had been an image of the formulae available.

Or even asin(kc) for the arcsine function.
