Silent Install: How to push license to licensePath?

16 views (last 30 days)
I understand non-interactive installation except for the client network license file. In the customized installer_input.txt file, I can set the licensePath value, but that is where the installed MATLAB looks for it when a user starts MATLAB, right? How does the license file get to that location? Does the installer put the license file in that location, and if so, how does it know where the license file is during the installation process? Do I have to install MATLAB and then run a script to copy the license file to the specified licensePath location?

Really? Nobody has an answer?
What would make sense is the installer_input.txt file has an option for the relative path to the network license file to use and the installer copies or builds the one MATLAB uses when it is started.

You give it the path to where your license file is before installation.
It copies it from there to the licenses directory where all the other matlab files are.
I assume it looks here by default when Matlab starts, but you can also do:
export MLM_LICENSE_FILE="/path/to/my/license.lic"
To tell it where you've saved it before running Matlab.
