Hello, I wonder if someone already tried to get data from UCAC3 catalogue from within Matlab and has may be some scripts he/she could share with me.

Walter, thank you for looking this up for me.
I downloaded the whole UCAC3 catalogue from here:
ftp://cdsarc.u-strasbg.fr/pub/cats/i/315/UCAC3
There is also a "read me" file with a description of all the binary values. They offer a simple Fortran program too. But I need something more powerful.
I found this piece of software, called wcstools:
http://tdc-www.harvard.edu/software/wcstools/index.html
They offer a complete package of c-source files, but it is problematic to use with Matlab in Windows environment.

The main page for the wcstools indicates it supports UCAC2 but there are apparently large differences for UCAC3.
