how to get MATLAB to recognize data to table with space as a delimitator but data within ' '

4 views (last 30 days)
I have a text file with data for examples like: 1 'dogs' 15 33 1551 '210 12:00'
Using the import button on MATLAB I can get the data to load into a table like I was with the deliminator being space, however when it comes to data points that are enlosed in ' ' such as '210 12:00' , it splits these two into two different variables but I want to keep it together. How would i go about importing the data and having matlab ignore the white space between things enclosed in ' ' ?
