- Use a Boolean operation to subtract the areas of the receiver that are open from the solid object. This will create a more accurate model of the receiver and prevent the ball from bouncing off the open areas.
- Use a surface modeling technique to create a more complex and accurate model of the receiver. This would involve creating a surface that accurately represents the shape of the receiver and then filling in the interior of the surface to create a solid object.
- Use a mesh modeling technique to create a more detailed and accurate model of the receiver. This would involve creating a mesh that accurately represents the shape of the receiver and then filling in the interior of the mesh to create a solid object.
Contact forces between extruded solid and solid

Hello I am trying to modeling the forces between a docking adapter for a boat, the dock is installed with a receiver, and the boat is installed with a hitch. To simplify, I have used a solid sphere to model the tip of the hitch in the beginning, and tried to use extruded solid to recreate the receiver. The problem is that the ball won't penetrate through the open areas in the receiver, it just bounces off as if there was an object there. Is there a better way to model the receiver, I will attach the setup in simulink as well as a picture where ball floats in thin air.

Hey Jonas,
There are several ways you could model the receiver to make it more accurate and prevent the ball from bouncing off. Here are a few suggestions:
