Is there any documentation on how heat generation is calculated for Thermal Ports in Simscape Electrical Blocks?

I'm currently working with Synchronous Machines and Motor Blocks within the simscape library and would like to understand how the heat generated by stator windings and rotor rotation is calculated.
I've read through the "Thermal Model for Actuator Blocks" documentation given on the Mathworks websitie countless times the past 2 months hoping something would click but as far as I understand, within the thermal port there is an ideal heat flow source that gets an input value through some calculation that hasn't been explained anywhere. This heat is coupled with the thermal mass and the output is given to the port.
I could use FEM to calculate the thermals but I'd like to understand how the model works.
