Is there a way to set the default behavior for `format` statement?

I always prefer to use format long; format compact; upon starting a matlab session. But I am tired of typic this with every matlab session opening. I asked the MATLAB support a few years ago to add a feature to make a single statement format long compact possible. But it has apparently not been taken serisouly and not implemented as of 2023. Here is a a second request for help from the community instead. Is there a way to set format long; format compact; as the default behavior upon starting a matlab session?

no big deal. Put that in a startup.m file

Also, set it in MATLAB Preference, Command Window, Text Display
