As part of my research, I am developing an adaptive headlamp project for which I require a 3D model of a vehicle (a car) that can provide the output of the steering angle or the angle at which the vehicle is swiveling (I need the angle for calculation purposes). I need this angle as an output port. Is there a block that provides the steering wheel angle, or is there a method by which I can customize this?

Hi Prajwal,
I understand that you want the Steering wheel angle as an output for your calculations.
You can achieve this by using the Vehicle Dynamics Blockset. The steering blocks in the Vehicle Dynamics Blockset use the steering angle or steering torque to calculate wheel angles that you can input to the suspension blocks.
There are four Steering blocks available as mentioned below:
  • Dynamic Steering
  • Kinematic Steering
  • Mapped Steering
  • Steering System
You can refer to the documentation below to understand more about the Steering blocks and select one according to your requirements:
I hope this solves your query.
