I try to use Matlab Camera calibrator app to do calibrtion for my Sony camera. The Camera calibrator app needs some pictures(chessboard pattern) to calibrate. I watched some videos in the internet, they took picture by fixing the camera positon and moving chessboard pattern position. Can I take pictures by fixing the chessboard pattern position and moving the camera position?

Why are they moving the pattern? Just to get independent samples to get an average calibration? Why would you want to move the camera? What situation would you have once it's calibrated -- a moving scene or a moving camera?

Yes, for single camera calibration, it shouldn't matter whether the camera or the pattern (or both) are moving, as long as you don't care about camera extrinsics.
For stereo calibration, on the other hand, you would need to keep the relative extrinsics of the two cameras the same, which usually means not moving them.
