Application window cannot be resized or moved

I am having the same problem described in this previous question:

I also tried the suggested advice in that post but did not fix the issue.

I am using Ubuntu 20.04.6. I am starting matlab from the command line.

If you are having trouble resizing your MATLAB window by dragging its toolbar or adjusting its dimensions from the edges or corners with your mouse, consider using keyboard shortcuts as an alternative solution. To move the window, you can press Alt+F7; this allows you to move the window by moving your mouse. For resizing, pressing Alt+F8 offers a convenient method; moving your mouse away from the window will enlarge it, whereas moving it closer will reduce its size.
