What engine is the Matlab ocr function using

Hi, I am putting an OCR project together and am looking to implement a Tesseract OCR based solution. I can’t find anywhere where it explicitly says what is under the cover of the “ocr” function – any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks, Lawrence

Hello Lawrence,

MATLAB’s “ocr” function uses the Tesseract OCR engine for text recognition and detection. This has been mentioned in the “Text Detection” section of the MathWorks document titled “Getting Started with OCR”. Attached below is the link to the document below for your reference
