Installer stops on a blank pop-up screen. re-run in parallel thread will get to installation but immediately fails

The installer for 2023A on Windows 7 machine will hangup on a blank window with a title box of..
relaunch of setup.exe and it duplicates a blank window with a title box of...
re-relaunch of setup.exe will start a 3rd execution of the product installer and will go all the way to "click here to begin installation"
but immediately goes to "There was an error while extracting product files. Try rerunning the installer"

3 more attempts of re-running the Setup.exe and crashing at various points of completing. the 5th attempt the installer went extremely slow. The 5th installation ultimately took over 3 hours to complete but it did complete. I am not sure why the installer changed performance when i was doing exactly the same thing over and over.

This error may arise if you are attempting to install from installation files located on a shared or network drive rather than on your local drive. To resolve this, transfer the installation files to your local drive and try the installation again.

thanks for your response. I am not using a network drive for the instation. i have the "R2023a_Windows.iso" file which i extracted to a folder "R2023a_Windows" which was located in the root drive of the pc. "c:\R2023a_Windows". (Other employees advised of a matlab bug that required the installation files to be in the c:\root drive)
Are you still encountering the error even after having the installation files in the "C:/root" drive?
unfortunately, yes. even with the files being run from the root "c:\R2023a_Windows\setup.exe" run as administator, the fail occurs. I just tried to delete all teh files including the "C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R2023a" folder and then re-transfer the c:\R2023a_Windows installation files. result... it started to install but then crashed.

Hi Matthew - R2023a is not supported on Windows 7. The last release to support Windows 7 was R2021b. We would encourage you to update the OS if R2023a is the release you need to install.
