Why does MATLAB use the wrong license after activation?

I activated MATLAB to a new license, but after I reboot MATLAB, it is still using the old license. How do I make sure that MATLAB is using the correct license?

For Designated Computer/Individual Licenses:
Even after activation, MATLAB could still be using an older License File. To ensure that MATLAB uses the correct License File, delete all of the License Files and then reactivate MATLAB again. The link below has the default locations for the License Files.
For Network Named User/Concurrent Licenses:
The network.lic on the client machine could be pointing to the wrong License Server which would checkout a different license than intended. Please reach out to a License Administrator to obtain the correct network.lic file. Once you have the correct network.lic file, delete all of the License Files and place the new network.lic file in the default file location. The link below has the default locations for the License Files.
The following article addresses where to look for license files in the License Search Path.
