Hi every day when I start a new instance of matlab I get the following message:
License checkout failed
License Manager Error -9
The hostid of your computer (DISK_SERIAL_NUM=0) does not match the hostid of the license file (DISC_SERIAL_NUM=74B76dcc). To run Matlab on this computer you must run the actiation client to reactivate your license.

Please, is there a way to fix the license so that it does not continuously asked to be reactivated?

if you are using a university licensed version of mathlab then you have to
1.open its(matlab file location) and open win64 folder , i.e;"C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R2020b\bin\win64"
2.if you scroll down to that you will see "activate_matlab"(flie type: apllication),run it
3. go for the option which says "Activate automatically using internet" ,click next.
4. go for the first option "log into my mathworks account" ,click next,
5.it will ask enter your email address (your university mail address) and the password ,after entering, click next.
6. choose your license (your license will be displayed in default),click next.(if you dont know login to matlab website, your license number will be displayed in your account details)
7.it will show "windows user name" (case sensitive) it will display the user name by default (don't change it, unless you changed your user name after installing matlab "i.e; your pc name"),(if you don't know your pc name go to "C:\Users" there will be your pc name use it )after verifying, click next.
8.it will diplay your credentials (license no., activated by, windows user name )
9.if your credentials are correct, then click confirm, which will activate your license
it worked for me

disk serial number 0 sounds odd, like there are permission problems involved. I suggest launching MATLAB using "Run As Admininistrator" once and see if that solves the problem.
