help to divide an image into sub-blocks

hi I'm new to matlab and i need help.I have a 64*64 image.I want to divide it into 256 sub-blocks. I need to find out the dwt coefficients of each block. plz help with the code. [my project requires to embed a 16*16 binary image into a 64*64 grayscale image by altering the dwt coefficients.]

i have to convert my binary image into MxN blocks for the purpose of vehicle plate detection .Can you provide the matlab code for the above said?
