Audioinfo - 'undefined function for type char' error

1 view (last 30 days)
Hi,
I try to get the info from a wave file using the function 'audioinfo'. However, no matter what I do, I keep getting that "Undefined function 'audioinfo' for input arguments of type 'char'." error.
I tried
[filename, filepath] = uigetfile();
fullname = fullfile(filepath, filename);
info=audioinfo(fullname);
But even when I put the file in my current folder and type in the actual name, I keep getting the error.
I'm pretty lost. Any help VERY appreciated. Thank you :)

The audioinfo funciton was introduced in MATLAB version R2012b. If you have an earlier version, you will not have it.

Haha, thanks, that actually was the reason. That's what happens when you keep switching back and forth between new (at home) and old (office) versions. How annoying.
Is there an equivalent for older versions? I know that audioread/write replaced waveread/write.

My pleasure!
Looking through the R2012a online documentation (the release immediately before the one in which wavinfo made its debut), R2012a has the wavinfo function that would seem to do what you want.
