Integrating MatLab for C# into visual studio

I want to be able to use some MatLab functions to smooth real time data collected from an airplane IMU and GPS during an aerobatic maneuver. I am using C# and the suggestions I have seen for integrating MatLab functions into Visual Studio only relate to C or C++. Is the process as simple as finding the proper DLL from MatLab and integrating it into my environment via a "using" statement? If so where is the proper DLL and if not how do I do this integration.

I'm not sure which file to add to the visual studio references. The directions in the web page were: C# project to the MATLAB COM object. From the Project menu, select Add Reference.
Select the COM tab in the Add Reference dialog box.
Select the MATLAB application.
There is no MatLab.com and I'm not sure selecting matlab.exe is what is required. Would you please provide me with a little more information. I'm new to C# and visual studio.
Check this path: C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R2018b\bin\win64\mlapp.tlb
