How to specify PDE model coefficients in MATLAB 2015b?

1 view (last 30 days)
I have MATLAB 2015b and I am trying to implement the example in this webpage (<http://nl.mathworks.com/help/pde/examples/dynamics-of-a-damped-cantilever-beam.html)>. For it I need to solve a PDE model, for which I need to specify coefficients. In the example, that is done with the function 'specifyCoefficients'. However, in MATLAB 2015b, that function is not avaiable yet.
How to specify the PDE model coefficients in MATLAB 2015b?
Thank you for the support. Kind regards, Pedro Ochoa

I suggest that you either use the built-in MATLAB help system, available by entering
doc
at the command line, or use the R2015b documentation.

Dear Alan,
In the example
(<http://nl.mathworks.com/help/releases/R2015b/pde/examples/dynamics-of-a-damped-cantilever-beam.html>)
what should be the units of the force, P?
Thank you. Regards,

Hi Pedro,
P is distributed load, hence it should be provided as force per unit length. For example, if you are using SI units, then P should be in N/m.

Ravi
