Why do I get an error complaining that "tmw_esl_vsim_launch.bat" is unrecognized when using the HDL Cosimulation wizard in MATLAB R2016a?

I am using the HDL Cosimulation wizard to create an HDL Cosimulation block. At a certain point I get a command line windows that says the following.
'tmw_esl_vsim_launch.bat' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
Afterwards I cannot progress through the wizard. How do I fix this?

The HDL simulator you are using does not support UNC paths. To workaround this issue, run the HDL Cosimulation wizard from a folder with a path that does not contain spaces and does not being with "\\".
