How to Incorporate ARCGIS map in MATLAB?

I want to import a study area from ARCGIS to MATLAB. Is it possible to do that?

Export the arcgis map into geotiff and you can read geotiff file in MATLAB using goetiffread or readgeoraster. IT can be done.

I recommend you to use Openstreetmap (OSM) in Matlab and you can use the map of any part of the world and it has no cost.

You can convert ARCGIS map into shape file. Then input these file in matlab as grided format.
load('yourmap.mat');
