Has anyone connected Matlab to an Interbase database via ODBC or some other connection?

The Embarcadero developper's guide gives you directions on chapter 4 on how to establish a JDBC connection:
  • Install InterClient
  • Specify driver as 'driver = InterBase.interclient.Driver'
  • Specify the 'databaseurl = ...' according to your OS
Then use database ('databasename','username','password','driver','databaseurl') to establish the connection.
You might need to add the JAR driver location supplied with InterClient directly to classpath.txt. Insert the path to the database driver JAR file in the classpath.txt file. The classpath.txt file is located at:
$MATLABROOT\toolbox\local\classpath.txt
To check that you added it correctly use type javaclasspath in the command window.

Hello,
I try to connect to a sql database via interclient.jar. The file interclient.jar is listed in javaclasspath.
STATIC JAVA PATH
C:\CodeGear\InterBase\SDK\lib\interclient.jar
...
But if I enter this command:
driver = InterBase.interclient.Driver;
It takes an error like:
Undefined variable "InterBase" or function "InterBase.interclient.Driver".
Error in database_connection (line 6)
driver = InterBase.interclient.Driver;
My experience in databases are very bad. Can someone help me?
kind greets, Sebastian Legrand
