Data point:
This error occured immediately after updating my Radeon graphics card 540X Software vs 21.8.2 (R2021b).
Error using asyncio.MessageHandler/onError (line 31)
PortAudio Error: Unanticipated host error
Error using asyncio.MessageHandler/onError (line 31)
Audio output device has become unresponsive: 1024 sample(s) remain after timeout.
But even sound from YouTube isn't working so it's likely not a Matlab error in my case. Updating my audio driver fixed it (windows 10 pro).

In my case, after I disable all the "Realtek Audio" sound functions, it works.
Your code works well on my machine.

I change the plug in interface from the front of the main engine to the back. And it works!

I'm curious if anyone from The Mathworks has experienced this error. I am currently experiencing this error on R2016b, Win10, x86-64

I had this error message pop up. Took me embarasingly long to realize that the sound driver was tied up by another open application (windows media player). It's not a very descriptive way of indicating this. Closed the player and everything worked.
