Hello,
I am interested into evaluating the section area of the water droplets, e.g. as in the figure, on different substrate. The droplet on the left and right are pure water but the edge detection did not pick them up. I tried using the water with food coloring, but still I can't detect the edge.
The codes that I am using are based on;
https://uk.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/219740-image-processing-on-irregular-shaped-water-droplets
https://uk.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/41454-image-segmentation-on-an-image-with-low-contrast-and-nonuniform-lighting
But did not bring anywhere! I can add the code, and play around more with the parameters, but if someone wants to give some suggestion, that would be appreciated.
Thanks Antonio!

For only $599.99 you can get a FLIR thermal moisture camera. It may help to chill the water and warm the fabric to increase contrast.
You may not even need MATLAB since it has built-in analysis software.

Hello Image Analyst. This is a good idea and I managed to get, with IR camera a nice and crisp image. I have been taking a background measurement, than take another picture with the droplet and with the image Region analyzer I can measure the area as well. Thanks for your help
