Problem saving figures as .emf

I have recently changed to using a Microsoft surface running Windows 10 from an older Asus laptop with Windows 7 (which has died). On the old laptop I would save figures as .emf and the saved file was identical to the displayed figure in matlab. Now using the surface, whenever I save a .emf the image has a large white border to the right and below the axes. I have attached an example of this saved from the Paint program as a .png. The black border is what shows up on screen in matlab, while the red border denotes the area that is being saved. I dont seem to have this problem when saving to other file types such as png. I would like to keep using the .emf format as I am nearing the end of my project and would like to keep my figures consistent. I have tried to follow other posts on matlab central but cant seem to find one that fixes this problem. Any help would be appreciated - cheers.

What is the resolution of your Surface Pro display?
Did you also change versions of MATLAB? What are you running now?
Surface Pro is running 2160x1440 resolution. I have both 2011a and 2013a and both have the same issue. Was using 2011a on old computer as well.
Ah. I was suspecting it might somehow be due to the High DPI changes in MATLAB versions more recent than what you are using. I have no further ideas at this time.
Thanks for your thoughts!
