Fitting data to a multi-peak Lorentzian function

Can anyone propose a way to fit data to a multi-peak Lorentzian function (with or without using loops)? Here number of peaks and initial guess values will be given as inputs. But how to create the function automatically according to the number of peaks (in my case number of peaks may vary. so I need one script to handle the problem)?
