Folder names in MATLAB project

I downloaded some MATLAB project from the file exchange which consist of some m-files in the main directory and other m-files in several subdirectories.
The names of the folder in the projects are often starting with an "@" or a "+". Why is that? Further the appearance of the folders is different to folders which doesn't start with a special character. It seems as folders with "@" or "+" are added in the MATLAB path.
Is this the reason for naming the folders like that? Where can I find a documentation about that?
I'm looking forward to your answers!

Those are folders for MATLAB class files. Take a look at this documentation
Also the entire MATLAB object oriented programming guide

Could anyone link to documentation describing the +-package and @-class naming conventions or documentation on Matlab OOP in general?
These links are expired and I am looking for a place to learn about these concepts.
The "+" directory convention is for a so-called namespace. See following page: https://nl.mathworks.com/help/matlab/matlab_oop/namespaces.html
