Datetick error (NEVER works, 2013b)

Hi

Im trying to plot something (for my thesis), whilst using datetick. But it never works. I use Matlab 2013b.

I tried all the exemples on the matlab site. I used scripts from 2017 and scirpts from the matlab documentation archive for the 2013b version. But not a single run has worked so far. Every time the same error message appears: "Error in [scriptname](line 16) datetick('x',dateFormat)"

What could be the problem, and solution?

@Noheli a: please show a minimum working example that shows this behavior. We need to be able to replicate what you experience, so please show us exactly what code you are using.

In addition to the minimum working example Stephen requested, show us the full text of the error message ( everything in red) as it may contain information that will help identify the cause of the problem.
