As i await a new computer, i have been using my external hard drive (LACIE 2T with thunderbolt) as a plug and play computer to run my OS (OS X El Capitan 10.11.6) and other applications. I recently installed MATLAB_2017a to this hard drive that i boot from using different machines to enable a seamless flow of work from house to school. On trying to run matlab once i have booted the hard drive on another machine i have received License Manager Error -9. How can i resolve this as i am operating from the MATLAB file installed in the hard drive?

This may not comply with the license agreement, but you can check with MathWorks Technical Support Installation team to make sure.
