How to change default message box when using xlsread(filename,-1)

2 views (last 30 days)
Hello All, I am using xlsread(filename,-1) in my code where my intent is to give user ability to select specific data on a excel sheet. Now I am using this 3 times and every time I want to give message to user on which columns to select in their spread sheet. But currently the default message box have message "Data Selection Dialo...".
I want to change it to something "Select Category".
So is there any way to customize the default data selection message box?

I am trying with this:
warndlg('Select Category');
Now what I am trying to achieve is to execute = xlsread(filename,-1) once user clicks "OK" on warning dialogue box.
Is that possible?

You could just read the whole thing in, and show it in a uitable grid/sheet control on your GUI, then build your own custom dialog box with GUIDE, or do something simpler with inputdlg(), to ask the user which rows, columns, or sheets they want.
