What happens if my computer is sent for repair and it is replaced or MATLAB deleted?

I have to send my comp in for repair under warranty and am worried it may come back without MATLAB or be replaced with a new computer and I'll need to reinstall. How do I proceed with this?

If you had MatLab on your computer, then I you must have a License-Key.
If you have the key, then there's no problem.

While downloading and installing again should no be a problem, you may need to call installation support in case you had a certain number of activations before.
Also, you want to backup/save all the files you have created using MATLAB and the directory with the preference files. That is the directory returned by the MATLAB command "prefdir".

As long as the activation is on the same computer with the same MAC (Media Access Control -- ethernet address), then there should not be a problem (unless perhaps the MATLAB is somewhat old and the hard disk was replaced along the way.)
